Cramps
Whenever my period is nigh, I get an aching in my pelvis. It feels as though an invisible hand is winding up the ratchet lever in anticipation of gushing moon blood song. At times I feel like two hands are inside of me, squeezing my ovaries to milk them. These pains mean I will not give birth in forty-two weeks. They mark my body’s lunar calendar.
